It's beginning to look a lot . . . (shhh)

Hi friends~  How are you?  I know it is few and far between when I post : /  But I do actually have a small card that I created and want to share with you today!
As I write this post it is early evening and snow is covering the yards and rooftops~
The sky is gray and still.  Winter has infringed upon our Autumn! and seems to be knocking on the door so early this year~
This image was given by a friend (at Scrapbook.com)  She is a very talented paper artist and also has a generous spirit! I ran the image through a paper crimper - and was not real happy with the effect; but decided to work with it.
It is simple, but I felt good to be able to create even a little something~
The papers, bells and ticket, etc.; were in my Christmas misc. from last year.  I used a 'pine branch' punch for the greens.

The Rusty bells came from Etsy!  I used some plaid Washi tape from My Minds Eye Co.

I 'tied' a star to the tail of the moon!  : )  And dotted the image with some white pen marks, stickles shimmer and glitter.
I'm curious to know if any of you are in 'Winter'!?  It has brought on some holiday creativity! but albeit too soon for me ; )  Ah well, I guess I'll go with it~  Perhaps you are already feeling the desire to create for the Christmas Season?  Enjoy! It really isn't that far away~
Much much loving hugs to you and wishes for a blessed rest of the week.
I'm still working full time and enjoying life in MT with my beautiful daughter and family!
~Karen

  1. Hello Karen , I so love this wonderful and cosy Christmas card .
The image is the sweetest - ( what is a paper crimper ) and the many adorable details you have , -the rusty bells, the stamp with the clips, diecut branched and thread , all makes this so special and real a Christmas card.
Sending you hugs and love. xo

    1. Hello friend! and thanks for stopping in to see my card! I will email you some pictures to show you what a "paper cripmer" is! 2. Isn't that a sweet card!
The face on that girl is darling and you have created beauty to finish her off.

For the month of October we had 28 inches dropped on our home, I even took the snowshoes out twice, but November has been somewhat warm with blue skies and NO snow here, Denver a little, but not us. It's crazy!
The slopes open on this Saturday and while the top slopes have good snow, it's dry on the lower ones. They could have skied in October. ;)

    Take care~

    2. Oh I would love to sit over a cuppa with you and have sweet fellowship.
Yes, I used to ski a lot until my knees became an issue, but, I'm hoping to get back on those slopes. How about you?

    3. Thank you Debbie~ Well, for me - Skiing is for the tourist! LOL I don't really mean that : ) I used to ski when I was a teen; but life, work, family, and the expense of getting up there was all too much~ So I've had to leave it out~ Being so close to the slopes is awesome for you! Hope you can give it a try again. (Bunny slopes ; ) Karen

  3. Oh Karen it is so nice to see you posting and with a new project, so glad you had some time to create, snow will get you in the mood for the holidays even if it is too soon. As you know we also had our Autumn cut short with snow, hoping it will all be melted soon.
I love that image and how you gave it a feel of winter with your touches, that is neat how you put it through your crimper, I love your greens with the rusty bells and the ticket with the date on it is so neat too! Gorgeous, vintage feel to it, beautifully done!! Hope you get a touch of Indian summer before winter sets in for good :)

    1. Hello Connie! Thank you for your kindness on my wintry card : ) Oh I wish more than believe that we will get an Indian summer here! Winter seems to settled in so early - But that would be sensational for a warm up~ Today is cold and cloudy but a bit rainy too. That melts the snow. Hugs friend! And blessing for a good weekend~ Love stopping in your blog Connie! Karen

  4. Karen this sure does make me feel that Winter needs to take hold of the wettest Autumn I have ever experienced. I love how you crimped the image I imagine it looks so tactile with those used up elements of past creations. So good to use them up, I feel my best creations are from those pieces left behind.
How lovely to be spending time with your Daughter, I miss mine terribly as she travels from one end of the world to the next. She is now back in Sweden where snow is not a problem to them as it can be here in the UK.. I personally love the idea of hiding away as snow keeps me indoors, fingers crossed we see some here when Winter lands.
Thank you for sharing your beautiful card and inspiring card.. Always lovely to visit, so glad yo have caught up with you today.
Sending warm hugs your way Tracey xx

    1. Tracey your visit to my blog was such a treat! Thanks so much for stopping in and leaving sweet thoughts~
I do feel so blessed to be close to my daughter. For many years we lived almost a 1000 miles apart~ Yes, an early Winter is upon us in the north west USA; but still not 'freezing' every day! I appreciate you~ Hugs and have a great week! Karen

  5. Oh, this is utterly charming, Karen. The image is delightful and I adore your winter gatherings to embellish it - the tiny tag, the greenery and those wonderful rusty bells. The star attached to the moon is such a sweet touch too. Perfect vintage style, of course, and how lovely that you've found some time to be creative. I'm not quite in winter or pre-Christmas yet - though the winter cold bug I've had this week would beg to differ! Hoping to find my mojo again soon - I haven't been near the craft table for over a week, which is very unlike me.

I hope you get to feeling better soon~ Some times these breaks away can inspire and give us fresh perspective.
Wishing you a fabulous week ahead! Hugs to you, Karen

As you know, we are heading into Summer down here in Aus. Actually, I think it has already arrived. Temperatures are certainly heading up .. 42 celsius is predicted for tomorrow .. not looking forward to it but they are saying we'll get a cool change in the evening so will hang out for that.
Hubby and I are off on a cruising holiday shortly so I won't be around for a while. Take care Karen. Stay safe and stay warm. hugs xx
