A Paper bag Thank You~

Hello to all!! Thanks ever-so-much for stopping in~
I wanted to share something I made many months ago; but just recently got sent out to our friend Marie at Lost Bird Studio. http://marie-lostbirdstudio.blogspot.com/
She is an artist with great talent; and a woman of generous spirit~  I hope you'll take some time to enjoy her blog~  She was (and is) such a blessing to me during some extremely difficult times- and this is a very (very) long over-due little thank you card.

This is a small paper bag; lightly painted with white acrylic around the edges.  I then added some papers, a bit of cheese-cloth, some scraggly-torn tissue paper and the image- which was gifted to me by Marie~ Isn't that a sweet vintage girl!   The 'crown' punched piece of paper at top is the sentiment card that fits inside.  I wrote a few words &  tucked a few small things into the bag for her and finally got it sent off~

There is a smattering of prills, beads, sequins and glitter here & there.  Look at those boots! : ) <3
(PS, I am such an amateur at this blogging! and don't know how to remove the spaces and gaps between photo's & text sometimes : p)

I hope this day finds you well?  And enjoying some creative time~  I am feeling Christmas so early this year.  I don't usually start things till after December rolls in; but my trees have been up for a week! That's just Not me~ hmmm
My dining table is covered with wrapping projects.  I don't shop this early! (who am I?:)
Well so-long for now dear friends.  I am still working full-time and my job awaits.
Wishing you blessings in the days ahead~
Love and hugs,  Karen

  1. What a beautiful gift to receive Karen your friend will surely be over the moon with it. Those luscious paper layers and added bits and bobs all are touches of loveliness. You are so prepared for Christmas, I have hardly had a moment to think about it let alone create for it. I'm snatching any spare moment with both hands as I am so so far behind with the prep.
Just wanted to say Thank you for your lovely visits it's so nice to meet you on here.
Have a blessed week & Thank you for sharing.
    Creative wishes Tracey x

The old photo is wonderful there, and I love all your adds of papers, the bows, the stones.

  5. What a treasure! I do love that vintage girl photo. It all goes so fast, and I have to get into the spirit of things whenever it hits for as long as it lasts. Early or late. Hope it's all beautiful for you ahead!

  7. Oh Karen I know that she was thrilled to get your lovely creation you made just for her. I love all the little touches you gave to it to make it so special!
I bet it feels good to have things all set up and your wrapping started, I haven't taken down my Autumn things yet, I ended up cutting my finger open yesterday washing the blade to my food processor, so things have been put off a bit.

  12. Hmmm... I was sure I'd popped over quite recently, so I don't know how I missed this charming gift bag. Another wonderful vintage little girl, and the punched sentiment tag to go inside is a super idea. It looks as though the gift-wrapping is going well. I'm a brown paper wrapper too, decorating with ribbon/twine and/or holly and ivy leaves. No tree here yet... we stick to putting it up as close to Christmas Eve as possible, and then keep it up for the full 12 Days of Christmas until 6th January. That quite, peaceful time after all the hurly burly of Christmas Day and New Year is probably my favourite part of the whole festival!

  13. Karen, This card/bag is soooo sweet! I bet Marie will be so happy to receive it. You are so talented. Your choice of colour is so interesting to me, so different from what I might have tried. I will take more courage from your example! The effect is so vintage, so authentically old-looking. My favourite style! The girl is beautiful, and I love the vintage script and cheesecloth strands peeking out. I hope you get much joy from the extra time to prepare for Christmas. Big hugs from me!
