Hello to all!! Thanks ever-so-much for stopping in~
I wanted to share something I made many months ago; but just recently got sent out to our friend Marie at Lost Bird Studio. http://marie-lostbirdstudio.blogspot.com/
She is an artist with great talent; and a woman of generous spirit~ I hope you'll take some time to enjoy her blog~ She was (and is) such a blessing to me during some extremely difficult times- and this is a very (very) long over-due little thank you card.
I hope this day finds you well? And enjoying some creative time~ I am feeling Christmas so early this year. I don't usually start things till after December rolls in; but my trees have been up for a week! That's just Not me~ hmmm
My dining table is covered with wrapping projects. I don't shop this early! (who am I?:)
Well so-long for now dear friends. I am still working full-time and my job awaits.
Wishing you blessings in the days ahead~
Love and hugs, Karen

This is a small paper bag; lightly painted with white acrylic around the
edges. I then added some papers, a bit of cheese-cloth, some
scraggly-torn tissue paper and the image- which was gifted to me by
Marie~ Isn't that a sweet vintage girl! The 'crown' punched piece of
paper at top is the sentiment card that fits inside. I wrote a few words & tucked a few
small things into the bag for her and finally got it sent off~
There is a smattering of prills, beads, sequins and glitter here & there. Look at those boots! : ) <3
(PS, I am such an amateur at this blogging! and don't know how to remove the spaces and gaps between photo's & text sometimes : p)

What a beautiful gift to receive Karen your friend will surely be over the moon with it. Those luscious paper layers and added bits and bobs all are touches of loveliness. You are so prepared for Christmas, I have hardly had a moment to think about it let alone create for it. I'm snatching any spare moment with both hands as I am so so far behind with the prep.
ReplyDeleteJust wanted to say Thank you for your lovely visits it's so nice to meet you on here.
Have a blessed week & Thank you for sharing.

Hi Marg! Thanks so much for stopping in! I don't know what got into me, but I am feeling 'Christmas' and so going with it ; ) (perhaps since last year I just wanted the holidays to go by . . .) I'm glad to have the Christmas bug! Hugs, Karen
DeleteOh Karen, Marie will love this beautiful bag with the card inside- so lovely it is, so girly and vintage,- so her style .
ReplyDeleteThe old photo is wonderful there, and I love all your adds of papers, the bows, the stones.
The card is like a soft hug in the lovely blue tones, and so sweet with the crown punched top.
You are truly fast this year, with gifts already packed,- here I`m happy I have ordered some, but have still not recieved any of them with the post .
Dearest friend, wishing you a lovely evening , Karen- I`m happy you are in Christmas spirit already my friend. Warm hugs, and love , from Dorthe , and blessings to you, too.

DeleteWhat a treasure! I do love that vintage girl photo. It all goes so fast, and I have to get into the spirit of things whenever it hits for as long as it lasts. Early or late. Hope it's all beautiful for you ahead!
ReplyDeleteThanks for peeking in Jacqueline! I do agree with your comment; and it is much easier to creatively decorate when you feel the time is right. I know you will make your home beautiful for Christmas~ Take care, Karen
DeleteOh I like your creative card you made,it looks great and anyone who loves our kind of art would want it in their collection.
ReplyDeleteI am making some however they aren't as good as yours.
I love her boots also, I have some very small brown candy vintage paper bags, and you gave me a good idea to use them.
Janice
Thank you so much Janice! I appreciate the visit~ and I hope you will share a photo if you get creative with your candy bags! Would love it~ Karen
DeleteOh Karen I know that she was thrilled to get your lovely creation you made just for her. I love all the little touches you gave to it to make it so special!
ReplyDeleteI bet it feels good to have things all set up and your wrapping started, I haven't taken down my Autumn things yet, I ended up cutting my finger open yesterday washing the blade to my food processor, so things have been put off a bit.
Connie, Oh No! I hope the cut wasn't too serious! : / Please take care~~ I think the Lord has blessed me with this desire for Christmas; it has brightened my heart quite a bit. I usually wait for Dec. 1st; but I'm ahead of the game! Thank you for stopping in my friend~~
ReplyDeleteOh Karen!!! Your beautiful thank you paper bag card is gorgeous!!!! Oh how I love visiting this place and seeing your creativity! And I love seeing your beautiful wrapping! It's simply delightful in every way :) It's so funny that you say it's not like you, because this year, we're way ahead of schedule too. Must be something in the water? I figure, it's nice to have Christmas to look forward to just a little bit longer. Hugs to you sweet friend! xo

Hey there Jackie, So blessed by your blog visit! It's always a joy to hear from you.
DeleteYou know, others have mentioned to me that the Christmas spirit has come early! I'm glad to hear you feel the same way; and I hope it brings you peace and joy. Are you taking good care of yourself?!! Please do <3 hugs to you, Karen
Lovely, you are so creative!! Beautiful work :)
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for stopping into my blog Connie! You are such a peach~ I love your creative work and am inspired by you! Have a nice week, Karen
DeleteHmmm... I was sure I'd popped over quite recently, so I don't know how I missed this charming gift bag. Another wonderful vintage little girl, and the punched sentiment tag to go inside is a super idea. It looks as though the gift-wrapping is going well. I'm a brown paper wrapper too, decorating with ribbon/twine and/or holly and ivy leaves. No tree here yet... we stick to putting it up as close to Christmas Eve as possible, and then keep it up for the full 12 Days of Christmas until 6th January. That quite, peaceful time after all the hurly burly of Christmas Day and New Year is probably my favourite part of the whole festival!

Karen, This card/bag is soooo sweet! I bet Marie will be so happy to receive it. You are so talented. Your choice of colour is so interesting to me, so different from what I might have tried. I will take more courage from your example! The effect is so vintage, so authentically old-looking. My favourite style! The girl is beautiful, and I love the vintage script and cheesecloth strands peeking out. I hope you get much joy from the extra time to prepare for Christmas. Big hugs from me!
