(my 40th post, wow! : )
Welcome dear friends!! I have been away for a bit; and trying to find my own 'pace' in this wonderful world of blogging!
(tks Tam: )
I recently had the pleasure of visiting my 2 daughters and their families for Easter.
Oh my did I need that! And although the visits are always "too short" : ) I enjoyed it so very much~
Here is a 12X12 lay out I did of the girls about 2 years ago. (the photo was taken when they were 7 & 4 years old.)
The papers and embellishment are from My Mind's Eye Company, the "Find Your Wings And Fly" collection. http://www.mymindseye.com/
I added a few bright buttons, gray & white cotton twine & and some checked washi tape~
FIND YOUR WINGS AND FLY~ They surely did.
I absolutely adored those girls! (Melissa, and Amanda the younger) and I still do today. Though far away, they are my sweetest and best friends. They take great care of me and are so diligent to make sure I am getting along well. Melissa checks in with me every day~ Their hearts are filled with the love of God, and they are wonderful women; with love and honor for me, their mother. They're simply the best!
Just a bit older here~
We were sitting in the car and they were watching for their daddy to return. Amanda had recently gotten one of those "wedge" haircuts!! Oh dear!! What can I say, it was the 1980's! : )
Here is my elder daughter Melissa, with her nephew (my grand son!) Tom.
My eyes well with tears just thinking of her kind nature - she is so wonderful!
Below is Amanda my sweetie! Full of fun and good sense too~ Those are her girls, my granddaughters Emilie (left) and Olivia. The little boy is a cousin of theirs~
(Tom pictured above belongs to Amanda)
Children really are a blessing aren't they!?
My hope is to some day live near them; and soon! (Please God: )
I think that will be the end today : ) I need to get back to work! LOL
Please know your visits and friendships mean the world to me! and I thank you for taking time out of your busy day to pay a visit~
Love & hugs, Karen
Oh my! This is such a lovely page Karen .. it simply glows with the love you have for your girls. The colours are so pretty and feminine and I love all the layers and bits of ephemera!! Your girls sound like lovely women .. inside and out!! Blessings to you all!! hugs xx
ReplyDeleteHello dear Karen,
ReplyDeleteI`m happy to see you here again, and so lovely to see your girls, and grandkids.
Your girls are as lovely and beautiful, as they were when small , and Amanda`s kids so sweet and beautiful, too. You are lucky with loving daughters, whom take care of you, my dear.
Love your beautiful art from years back. The papers matching beautifully, and all the layers, makes me want to create something ,in many layers, too. I love how you altered it to look shabby , and the photo of your two charmers is the sweetest.
I hope one day your wish will be fulfilled, so you can live closer to them all. I know how it is to far away from my daughter and grandkids, and would love us to be closer, too....which will not happen !!!!
Sending you warm hugs and love.
Dorthe
Hi Karen! What a gorgeous layout and beautiful family you have. I know what you mean about not being close to your family. All of mine, dad, kids and grandchildren, live in Florida, about a 12-hour drive from here. I wish you well in being able to move closer to them. Thanks for sharing this lovely post with us! Hugs, Sue
ReplyDeleteHi Karen..
ReplyDeleteWe are all finding our way, dear friend. Some have just been at it longer :) Lots of grace! Your page is wonderfully charming with all it's lovely layers and sweet sentiments and of course your beautiful girls just make it perfect! They all look so sweet. And I really like the colors together also. The curled and distressed edges add that vintage look that I love. What a beautiful job you did!
Isn't it wonderful to be able to look at our old photos and and swim in the pool of special memories. I'm hoping to be able to have access to some of my old family photos and get them scanned.
Your daughters and grand kids are all so precious. I'm so glad that you had such a wonderful time with them all and I hope that you can visit them again really really soon! Have a wonderful week.
Blessings to you,
Tamara <3
Hello Karen~~I have been thinking of you and wondering how your little time away was.
ReplyDeleteBlogging has a way of causing us to stop and ponder at times just trying to balance it all out with our every day lives. May you find the balance you are searching for and have peace within your heart with where you go with it.
Your family is beautiful. Thank you for sharing them with us.
That is a lovely card all graced up with your sweet touches. I am always amazed at the creativity that some of you dear ladies share with us.
It is good to have you back!
