Family Photo Birthday Card~

Hi Friends in blog world! We are having a sunny day today, and I am so happy!  We hit a patch of  very cold  rainy weather - and I'm so eager for Summer~ Perhaps she is here <3

I'm sharing another birthday card, highlighting a photo of my (late) mother-in-law; when she was about 2~
These post  pics were taken during our few weeks of  cloudy weather- so the lighting is terrible!
The base is white cardstock; stamped.  Then a (generous! ; ) layer of cheesecloth.
I used  My Minds Eye papers and washi tape https://www.scrapbook.com/store/mme-ghf111.html?w=Gingham
for the layers.  I wish you could see the tape better -
Well wait, you can!  Let me take a pic and add it here*

 I love that stuff! : )
I added a few sequins and micro beads as well~
Thank you for stopping in!!  It is back to work now for me~
Is your week going well so far?
I am busy enough : ) with my bookkeeping and accounting (I know, *yawn* ; )
Looking forward to this warm sunny day~
Hugs to you,  Karen

  1. Oh Karen that is just so sweet, and I love the cheesecloth behind, such a cool layer behind the picture, that does look like some great patterns in that pack of washi, and like how you have used it. I need to write down using the beads because I just love your little touches that you have used with them, looks fabulous!

So glad for you, that the sun has started shining, - also here today, but it changes all the time, one day grey, the next sunny - maybe it is summer, this year Karen. Take care dear friend, and a lovely rest of week, to you . Big hugs and smiles- from Dorthe xoxoxo

  6. Hi Karen! Well, I almost completely missed this!! So glad I eventually found it though, your card is stunning!! I love the white background, the cheesecloth and the washi tapes (one of my fave embellies too) Love your vintage style and the photo is adorable. How lovely to have old family photos to create with! I absolutely love this!!
Our weather has turned really cold here and we've had quite a bit of rain as well. So much for the 'warmer and drier winter' we are supposed to be getting this year. So far, it's been totally the opposite!! Have a wonderful day Karen! hugs xx

  8. What a great personal card Karen, love the cheeky look on your Mother in Laws face. What a happy picture. Your layered background works in harmony with the black and white photography. Washi is amazing stuff for adding those little extra and we can rip and tear it into the tiniest of pieces!! Marvellous... Creative Hugs & wishes Tracey xx
