Family Photo Birthday Card~

Hi Friends in blog world! We are having a sunny day today, and I am so happy!  We hit a patch of  very cold  rainy weather - and I'm so eager for Summer~ Perhaps she is here <3

I'm sharing another birthday card, highlighting a photo of my (late) mother-in-law; when she was about 2~
These post  pics were taken during our few weeks of  cloudy weather- so the lighting is terrible!
The base is white cardstock; stamped.  Then a (generous! ; ) layer of cheesecloth.
I used  My Minds Eye papers and washi tape https://www.scrapbook.com/store/mme-ghf111.html?w=Gingham
for the layers.  I wish you could see the tape better -
Well wait, you can!  Let me take a pic and add it here*

 I love that stuff! : )
I added a few sequins and micro beads as well~
Thank you for stopping in!!  It is back to work now for me~
Is your week going well so far?
I am busy enough : ) with my bookkeeping and accounting (I know, *yawn* ; )
Looking forward to this warm sunny day~
Hugs to you,  Karen

  1. Oh Karen that is just so sweet, and I love the cheesecloth behind, such a cool layer behind the picture, that does look like some great patterns in that pack of washi, and like how you have used it. I need to write down using the beads because I just love your little touches that you have used with them, looks fabulous!

  2. Dear Karen it is adorable , so many sweet details with the washi and the the tag and bow, love the rose washi .
The cheesecloth is perfect behind your Mother in law, - such a lovely old photo and I also love the stamping behind !!
So glad for you, that the sun has started shining, - also here today, but it changes all the time, one day grey, the next sunny - maybe it is summer, this year Karen. Take care dear friend, and a lovely rest of week, to you . Big hugs and smiles- from Dorthe xoxoxo

  3. These are so awesome. So you !!! Love your vintage style and vintage heart!! Beautifully designed!!!

  4. Hi Karen! We just had more rain yesterday, but it's supposed to be sunny today here. I hope you are having sunny weather as well! I am so ready for summer!!! And WOW! Your card is absolutely beautiful. I love that photo of your m-i-l when she was 2. It is so adorable and such a wonderful memory to put here. The layers look amazing and that washi tape is gorgeous. I always forget about my washi tape - thanks for reminding me!!! You have such a beautiful style and I love your blog, too. Thanks so much for your wonderful visit to mine! I hope you are having a nice, warm, and sunny day! Hugs to you!!! Sharon

  5. Ohhh how delightful!! I'm really smitten with this little project, Karen! The way you infuse texture into your art...Just beautiful! So very glad that Summer seems to be there...We are in a patch of rain at the moment, but hopefully sunny skies are just around the corner! Hugs to you sweet friend, and thank you SO much for all of your love! xoxo

  6. Hi Karen! Well, I almost completely missed this!! So glad I eventually found it though, your card is stunning!! I love the white background, the cheesecloth and the washi tapes (one of my fave embellies too) Love your vintage style and the photo is adorable. How lovely to have old family photos to create with! I absolutely love this!!
Our weather has turned really cold here and we've had quite a bit of rain as well. So much for the 'warmer and drier winter' we are supposed to be getting this year. So far, it's been totally the opposite!! Have a wonderful day Karen! hugs xx

  7. That's another adorable photo, and I adore the textural monochromatic layers you've surrounded her with. The frothy cheesecloth is gorgeous. Thank you for the tape close-up! Hope you have a great week ahead.

  8. What a great personal card Karen, love the cheeky look on your Mother in Laws face. What a happy picture. Your layered background works in harmony with the black and white photography. Washi is amazing stuff for adding those little extra and we can rip and tear it into the tiniest of pieces!! Marvellous... Creative Hugs & wishes Tracey xx
