Finding a little time to create~

Hi friends!  I'm still here : )  and have had a bit of time and a little creativity~  Hope you are well?  Are you heading into a busy Summer season?  We had a few very warm days - but (sigh) still in the midst of 'rainy-cool' weather. Perhps this coming weekend we will warm.   That's OK; Summer is bound to be late some years : )  she can get lost along the way - Montana is so far . . .

Here's a large tag    (from >  Graphic 45 )
I used some vintage book paper (Lesson Hour with the Little Ones . .)
I've also used papers and washi tapes from the My Minds Eye paper collection called "Gingham Farm." >   Scrapbook.com
I added some seam binding in black and gold; and a chipboard hinge from Dusty Attic.
https://www.dustyattic.com.au/products.php?product=Hinges
I covered the hinge with white paint, clear crackle medium, distress ink; and some micro-beads~

The chipboard butterfly is covered in micro beads as well : )  There's a little felt flower under the ribbons,  created by a dear friend.    http://www.ivanacreates.com/
I always seem to go a bit crazy with those teeny beads!  You should see my desk . . .(they roll all over the pace! : )
That's a little chipboard heart near the top, held fast with a black mini clothes pin.
I attached the hinge with a little "give" so it can hold a few photo's or notes~
Sorry about the shadowy post pic's   : /  There just hasn't been much outdoor light during these cloudy days ( to take good photo's with my phone.)

I think I must say goodbye for now.  I hope you have a blessed week ahead!!  I have one or two small things to share when I can get back~ I'm glad to have been at my craft desk and actually create! LOL ; )
Loving hugs to you'
Karen

Our weather is a bit up and down at the moment. One day it will rain and the next it's really sunny. The nights are getting quite cold though so I think winter may be on it's way! Have a wonderful week my friend! Love and hugs xx

  2. Oh Karen I am thrilled to open my email up today and see that you have posted and oh my I am so glad you have shared your beautiful creation, I always love to see what you have come up with and this is one of my favorites, you do such a beautiful job of pulling everything together, that hinge is just too cool, look so old with the great crackle and the touches that you have made with the beading is just wonderful, you have given me such inspiration, I have a whole collection of little beads but haven't used them. Hope things warm up for you very soon, believe it or not us down here in southern Illinois have had a cooler than normal spring too, which I am not complaining because the heat can get to be too much for me.

  4. I know what you mean about Montana being so far from summer ---- The first winter that I lived in Montana, I was pregnant with my first child and scheduled to give birth in March. I thought, oh good, I'll have a Spring baby. On the way to deliver in March it was snowing hard. Being from southern Colorado, I thought Spring started in March. We had several more snow storms after our son was born that year ---- Montana Spring??? I always enjoy your creative endeavors. This one is wonderful. Sally

  6. Hi Karen...
This is so pretty! I have always liked graphics 45 papers and My Minds Eye though I don't have very many. Have you ever shopped on Blitsy? You always give such careful attention to your details. I love the little hinge and the coordinated seam bindings that you used! I'm so happy for you that you're finding some time to create and I always enjoy seeing what you make. Lighting can be so tricky but your photos look fine to me. It's been cold here too. We had snow yesterday and were holding our breath last night hoping the temps didn't dip too far. I hope you're doing well Sweet friend and that you have a lovely rest of your week.

    Hugs and Blessings to you.

  7. What an amazing creation Karen, i'm so glad you found some time to craft and create. I adore that hinge with it's texture and functional way it holds those photographs. The gold and black colourway is so striking. A beautiful composition and one I know I would love to hold in person as there is many extra touches to discovered. A delightful piece full of attention to detail, I would say your mojo has found it's way out of the bag and is dancing at the thought of those summer rays!!
Sending creative HUGS you way Tracey xx

  8. This is absolutely charming - so glad you found some time for some crafting. The black and gold is so elegant, and that vintage paper design is exquisite. I love the weathered hinge holding the photos in place - such a wonderful idea. Sorry I’ve been so absent – there’s a quieter period on the horizon (at least until the next last-minute gig bobs up to spoil it).
