Hello and thank you for stopping in!<br />
It has been so long; too long really since I posted. (But some things cannot be helped)<br />
<br />
I have only had small bits of creativity! I cannot explain why~ But anyway . . .<br />
Here is a little card I created yesterday with some free time I had~<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj1JsdvFvB09_QZmv8BCwSgrr5iIPKQDkH54r79fU0aI5aqyF4yFhMmNDrbNqOoUiQ1hyphenhyphenxNSjpjU4Xwip6qf9gjTUoFX4OmXhAJXJJuaw1WS1q9q6zwqCz4rKksbBx36UtvCMuofO5LfQ/s1600/IMG_E3934.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1422" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj1JsdvFvB09_QZmv8BCwSgrr5iIPKQDkH54r79fU0aI5aqyF4yFhMmNDrbNqOoUiQ1hyphenhyphenxNSjpjU4Xwip6qf9gjTUoFX4OmXhAJXJJuaw1WS1q9q6zwqCz4rKksbBx36UtvCMuofO5LfQ/s640/IMG_E3934.JPG" width="568" /></a></div>
The 'stitching' is stamped. I used some corrugated board (I whitewashed), and an older piece of (heart) chipboard from Bo Bunny. The flowers are a Tim Holtz die cut - and the sweet image was included in a gift package (sent to me quite some time ago) from Marie @ Lost Bird Studio Blog~<a href="http://marie-lostbirdstudio.blogspot.com/">http://marie-lostbirdstudio.blogspot.com</a><br />
Marie was one of my first inspirations in blogging and encouraged me in so many ways!<br />
There are a few seed beads and some Stickles scattered around as well. Seam binding bow~ <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjGDHgOwE0BMIIpPiVaXUNST05AArDvVYqcne_NZue9OuaNoSeQ5Kqt79gc0qTdQNiGLfZxyxAAy_6Qlv5pL5JnMn3kWQACyppWrxgfzIInUF-OzdR88Rg-gAivvZEP_gsy1ZR3s8VwNw/s1600/IMG_3935.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1200" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjGDHgOwE0BMIIpPiVaXUNST05AArDvVYqcne_NZue9OuaNoSeQ5Kqt79gc0qTdQNiGLfZxyxAAy_6Qlv5pL5JnMn3kWQACyppWrxgfzIInUF-OzdR88Rg-gAivvZEP_gsy1ZR3s8VwNw/s400/IMG_3935.JPG" width="300" /></a></div>
Wishing you all a wonderful Summer! It is my favorite time of year. I have enjoyed some blog hopping : ) and hope that that can continue for me; as I love to see what you have been up to!!<br />
Blessings,<br />

Hi there friends! I thought perhaps I would not be posting again till February, but I just wanted to say Merry Christmas (again : ) and share these 'little somethings' with you.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj9tbwJmupetrhRENz5siZgogKbfickBJhJKxty2WwgAYaXW8YkW5hqjmDubBJ2Xmbrwl_538-9sM9DskpyYS2cewVrQR0LNU4VwWIkE2qTYzu2VzSrkY8OiHWdexkNLzaMS7ZirD-ADw/s1600/IMG_E3472.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1222" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj9tbwJmupetrhRENz5siZgogKbfickBJhJKxty2WwgAYaXW8YkW5hqjmDubBJ2Xmbrwl_538-9sM9DskpyYS2cewVrQR0LNU4VwWIkE2qTYzu2VzSrkY8OiHWdexkNLzaMS7ZirD-ADw/s640/IMG_E3472.JPG" width="488" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
This little mitten ornament fits in the palm of your hand; about 3" X 4" (7.62cmX10.16cm)<br />
I created it with natural batting, (2 pieces - sewn together using a blanket stitch) some lace, seam binding, micro-beads, Prills, and a <3 stick pin I put together with stray beads.<br />
The little white snowflake-like pieces are cut from lace; they were the center of a flower : )<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

I made one quite like this a few years ago and wanted to make another, for a friend~<br />
The tutorial was from Sugar Lump Studio's talented Nancy Maxwell James <a href="https://www.etsy.com/shop/sugarlumpstudios?ref=l2-about-shopname&page=1#items">Sugar Lump Studios Etsy shoppe</a><br />
<br />
<br />
I also put a little something together for my daughter. This was her great-grandmothers spoon~ I added a bit of colored Stickles to the leaves & berries, and some glitter, prills and micro beads - - [ though the glitter doesn't show well with my phone. camera!] : / *grumble*<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgA7odrXdIzMmpsEg_YJ_d_Vdqmcoo7vu_FGHgJ0uLJpYOrBO-omQl3YNo5Du8UXrZ6NmzIqeINZf-u9ELXwnqSVQgL_jCXqYJ3cTf-e51RBGK8CsAWAoULMOoSV0k5ZrnppCTYhK9r9w/s1600/IMG_3474.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="910" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgA7odrXdIzMmpsEg_YJ_d_Vdqmcoo7vu_FGHgJ0uLJpYOrBO-omQl3YNo5Du8UXrZ6NmzIqeINZf-u9ELXwnqSVQgL_jCXqYJ3cTf-e51RBGK8CsAWAoULMOoSV0k5ZrnppCTYhK9r9w/s640/IMG_3474.JPG" width="362" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I thought perhaps she may want to hang it on her Christmas tree~</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Well this time it really is good bye for awhile! I'll be busy with work; accounting and year end taxes.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I hope to visit your place soon~ </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I wish you a VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
And a Happy New Year Too!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Loving hugs, Karen</div>

Hello and welcome dear friends. Here's my (seemingly) once a month post! But alas it is what it is.<br />
[ I do post on my Instagram - also called roosterhead designs~ but it's the same pics as here. : ) That is where my family follows me to see my cards...] <br />
This is a quick post of a Birthday card I made for my baby sis~ It's a tag style; using my oldest and dearest paper collections by K & Co. called Ancestry.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjcgZFhdPtTdz5XX0_vnP8mmm2A-VgmfWN6lQyCKF9Rsz5OmzBx3O763Q9xfXdjXpFN3EDTkGecw-VcoppvawIEhubsNFm-wl7M7rhdV2TZbp1vRv51jf7NpFGgVp6hkOb0SVvL85oQ5Q/s1600/IMG_E3408.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1166" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjcgZFhdPtTdz5XX0_vnP8mmm2A-VgmfWN6lQyCKF9Rsz5OmzBx3O763Q9xfXdjXpFN3EDTkGecw-VcoppvawIEhubsNFm-wl7M7rhdV2TZbp1vRv51jf7NpFGgVp6hkOb0SVvL85oQ5Q/s640/IMG_E3408.JPG" width="466" /></a></div>
When I first took up cardmaking I went to the local "Archivers" (remember them?!)<br />
and I found a pad of this vintage style paper. That was it; I was hooked!<br />
* I apologize for the pooor photo quality. I now use only my phone camera - and when the sky is grey and cloudy there is just no getting a good pic : (<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhe0JgmEW0jQ27bRPLEKpnqbMUJRyDHZxOWbfTMStNPMerTSvrmL7BsQr5n-e5jf5rvy-ybI_zVUqjzA5HVaDPJwTkXWTpargK3pnlvgEHE_VY4QzOv6Lom3yMnO2tdiLLk57AfOtkr2A/s1600/IMG_3403.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1200" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhe0JgmEW0jQ27bRPLEKpnqbMUJRyDHZxOWbfTMStNPMerTSvrmL7BsQr5n-e5jf5rvy-ybI_zVUqjzA5HVaDPJwTkXWTpargK3pnlvgEHE_VY4QzOv6Lom3yMnO2tdiLLk57AfOtkr2A/s640/IMG_3403.JPG" width="480" /></a></div>
I've incorporated some different textures with hopes of making it an interesting card! Cheese cloth, corrugated board, micro beads . . . The butterfly is cut from a Tim Holtz die. <br />
I actually remembered to do a wet-emboss text stamp! > When I have the pleasure of visiting Alison @ Words and Pictures <a href="https://alisonbomber.blogspot.com/">https://alisonbomber.blogspot.com/</a>she regularly does that (wet-embossed text) and I love the effect~<br />
On the back I attached a mini envelope as I often do when enclosing a gift card or birthday $.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiKKcgtjB6xew89DBQvNzi1wRFy0oj2E3YT9txOoYSxl11NHEwd_csGJDigVSYM_BsFipJI6hZPVi05hMc_9EBjQ9boc62TDkQ-aA10d__HpEIZo56HSF0NfEfzMPy92mPWTeMh2r6vsA/s1600/IMG_E3412.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1140" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiKKcgtjB6xew89DBQvNzi1wRFy0oj2E3YT9txOoYSxl11NHEwd_csGJDigVSYM_BsFipJI6hZPVi05hMc_9EBjQ9boc62TDkQ-aA10d__HpEIZo56HSF0NfEfzMPy92mPWTeMh2r6vsA/s640/IMG_E3412.JPG" width="456" /></a></div>
The Birthday greeting was added later on, to the checkered paper.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
I will be very busy the next several week. It is year end accounting time~ But I hope to keep up my visits to your place! and see what beautiful things you are creating~<br />
<br />
My wishes to you for a blessed Christmas Season and a Happy New Year Too!<br />
Hugs,<br />
Karen<br />

(shhh)<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on">
Hi friends~ How are you? I know it is few and far between when I post : / But I do actually have a small card that I created and want to share with you today!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgVIVFiEUEUJU3hHHC4AHP6oxegMrg8TJB217wtDQAJKP-tjFqzBqNdb3hCsyQrxhx5nzvDDRsomWkatwYxKqlyp06mOT1siwdEkGfNG3RWGn7iM6v7ewwh33tq-MhPAJF_vav7Wi5Gkw/s1600/IMG_3362.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1261" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgVIVFiEUEUJU3hHHC4AHP6oxegMrg8TJB217wtDQAJKP-tjFqzBqNdb3hCsyQrxhx5nzvDDRsomWkatwYxKqlyp06mOT1siwdEkGfNG3RWGn7iM6v7ewwh33tq-MhPAJF_vav7Wi5Gkw/s640/IMG_3362.JPG" width="504" /></a></div>
As I write this post it is early evening and snow is covering the yards and rooftops~<br />
The sky is gray and still. Winter has infringed upon our Autumn! and seems to be knocking on the door so early this year~<br />
This image was given by a friend (at Scrapbook.com) She is a very talented paper artist and also has a generous spirit! I ran the image through a paper crimper - and was not real happy with the effect; but decided to work with it.<br />
It is simple, but I felt good to be able to create even a little something~<br />
The papers, bells and ticket, etc.; were in my Christmas misc. from last year. I used a 'pine branch' punch for the greens.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>

The Rusty bells came from Etsy! I used some plaid Washi tape from My Minds Eye Co.<br />
<a href="https://mymindseye.com/products/gingham-farm-collection-kit?_pos=2&_sid=7ceba2469&_ss=r">https://mymindseye.com/products/gingham-farm-collection-kit?_pos=2&_sid=7ceba2469&_ss=r</a><br />
<br />
I 'tied' a star to the tail of the moon! : ) And dotted the image with some white pen marks, stickles shimmer and glitter.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

A journal made with a 7Gypsies book cover, lots of scraps from the craft table! including Tim Holtz ephemera and Maja Designs papers. The heart was die cut from canvas and stenciled with Gesso & the edges inked.<br />
That gold ribbon was always my favorite! I used it often; and can now no longer find it : / (well, not that exact color and texture) The black clip on the left is a cafe curtain rod clip!<img border="0" height="459" itemprop="image" src="https://www.scrapbook.com/gallery/cache/66/666597/IMGP0210_0.jpg" style="border: 0px none;" width="640" /><br />
Some eyelets and cotton twine. Lace and punching. <3 button.<br />
Below are a few pages inside~<br />
<img border="0" height="400" itemprop="image" src="https://www.scrapbook.com/gallery/cache/66/666597/IMGP02070_0.jpg" style="border: 0px none;" width="358" /> I enjoy making my own paper flowers but<br />
don't always do so! These I did make~ Bits of washi tape, rub-ons (remember those?! : ) and stamping.<br />
<img border="0" height="320" itemprop="image" src="https://www.scrapbook.com/gallery/cache/66/666597/IMGP0204_0.jpg" style="border: 0px none;" width="400" /><br />
How have you been these days? I would love to hear from you.<br />
Our Autumn started early this year (Oct 1) and even snow in the mountains near my home. But there was a bit of a break this week and we've had moderate temperatures~ I am still able to take walks! But today the weather looks 'threatening' - so we shall see.<br />
<br />
I hope you have a wonderful week-end!!<br />
<img border="0" height="400" itemprop="image" src="https://www.scrapbook.com/gallery/cache/66/666597/IMGP0203_0.jpg" style="border: 0px none;" width="310" />Loving hugs to you, Karen<br />

Hi friends! Greetings from chilly Montana~ I'm saying a long goodbye to Summer; I never want to let her go! I hang on to warmth and sunshine as long as possible.<br />
But alas, the leaves are changing and most of the days are now fairly cool (50's-60's Fht) with snow forecast for the approaching week-end! Wowzer, Life in the Rocky Mountains~<br />
<br />
Here is a continued 'blast from the past' with a Journal I made for my sweet baby sis.<br />
She was going to a Ladies Retreat and I put this together for her with a specific theme in mind; hoping this would be a help there in keeping her notes in order~<br />

I saw this "left to right" open idea on a delightful blog called justlilla <a href="https://justlilla.blogspot.com/">https://justlilla.blogspot.com/</a><br />
several years ago and thought it was a lovely idea!<br />
Mine is burlap (about 10" tall) and lined with cotton fabric. The pocket is made from vintage tea towel.There is also a short burlap pocket & pencil holder. I included bits of this and that; corrugated board, twine, stamping, white buttons, titch of metal, pearl beads, and laces. The closure tie is wide twill tape.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

I tucked in a few memento's and this homemade card for her. I used mostly Maja Design papers --> <a href="http://majadesign.nu/products/vintage-autumn-basics/">http://majadesign.nu/products/vintage-autumn-basics/</a><br />

Do you know the words to the song "Bridge Over Troubled Waters"? I included those words on a vintage sheet of paper; tucked in the card. It was a difficult time in her life and I wanted to include lots of encouragement~ (𝅘𝅥𝅮𝅘𝅥𝅮 . . .I'm sailing right behind . . .)<br />
<br />
I hope life is treating you well?<br />
I've enjoyed my Summer very much! With out-of-state company coming - and a few trips of my own sprinkled in~<br />

Hello to all who stop in today! Thank you for your most welcomed visit~<br />
I spent many months ( a few years ago) posting pictures of my art work and 'rambling' on my blog; with -0- followers! And I was fine with that being the case~ I needed an outlet for my heart and thoughts; and I needed a place to share my work.<br />
I told myself, "Even if no one follows, this will be a good experience" and it was; it is!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhTO8RCAogkAlDm1yWY9EV-spMOtmD6PXapmk4Gvelj2LrU9FhgS0Z7BRhDaIXNxkPKz20dRqU6kqfBOwIVdhxx5hECq9J94KueomfgmZ5brSWX2kbOE-BiIeH1gRRx41RPYf_KDCxJZg/s1600/IMGP0176.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1066" data-original-width="700" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhTO8RCAogkAlDm1yWY9EV-spMOtmD6PXapmk4Gvelj2LrU9FhgS0Z7BRhDaIXNxkPKz20dRqU6kqfBOwIVdhxx5hECq9J94KueomfgmZ5brSWX2kbOE-BiIeH1gRRx41RPYf_KDCxJZg/s640/IMGP0176.JPG" width="420" /></a></div>
* Simple fold canvas covered with some white burlap, vintage (and not so vintage) laces, Maja <a href="http://majadesign.nu/">http://majadesign.nu/ </a>papers (April-so pretty! : ) along with white corrugated board and beads. On the right edge there is a piece of lace with elastic button-hole loops~<br />
<br />
<br />
I've learned so many things since starting this blog, and have made some friendships I believe will last me a lifetime~ There are so many out there (YOU! : ) who have taught me so much about art, and many who have shared emotional and spiritual support that has carried my faithless little heart and my tiny wings through many a troubled waters.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgpZWnWFtE_cAJjXiBiJSVNT62vppJXor0mOX8BDZo_Nv7te3WaVgg1Per0wrYz8kYNlxsPhdr0GYhku8o8dVnNHLVMSK8q-Y-kXERJNzC0aIHs_kNgWnUwwtjSS0YeZSRTN7AxyiD05g/s1600/IMGP0178.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="267" data-original-width="700" height="244" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgpZWnWFtE_cAJjXiBiJSVNT62vppJXor0mOX8BDZo_Nv7te3WaVgg1Per0wrYz8kYNlxsPhdr0GYhku8o8dVnNHLVMSK8q-Y-kXERJNzC0aIHs_kNgWnUwwtjSS0YeZSRTN7AxyiD05g/s640/IMGP0178.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
*Open album with lace pocket and Battenburg lace doily pockets. White felt heart covered in vintage white buttons. Maja paper 'spools' for holding special photo's or journaling. (PS thats my moms parents : )<br />
<br />
Reaching back into my early years of work I'm able to see I had an abundance of creative energy (though perhaps only a few friends to share it with,) and my crafting time was so limited - I remember staying up till 2 a.m. to finish things I could not get out of my head! And then have to go to work in the morning~ (I still to this day work a full-time job) <br />
Whereas at this point in my life I have almost -0- creative energy, have a more flexible work schedule, and more friends and acquaintances to share with! Try making sense of that! : ) LOL<br />
*sigh*<br />
But part of life for me is learning that God gives lessons in everything~ And I want to learn; not just in one category - but in many categories! So I will continue my path as I'm lead, and if I've nothing 'new' to share - I'll keep digging up my favorite things as time (and inventory ; ) allows~ Who knows!?<br />
<br />

*Here is a teeny mini canvas album that tucks into the right side pocket. Held with a T Holtz pin and some ribbon~ The clock is a stencil and Gesso I think.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
For my 2nd album, I have a bit larger one I made a few years ago for a dear craft friend~ This one is quite "Froofy' too! ; ) [The lighting was soo poor for pics]<br />

*Butterflies stamped on (T Holtz.) The photo (a copy) is edge-punched.<br />
<br />
Much of the fabrics and laces came from my late-husbands grandmother. Actually most of it did! Except what I've picked up at sales. Some stained or unusable hankies had great lace edges to be cut off and reused~<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

*Quite lacy and 'froofy'!! The rossette was not made by me; but isn't it lovely? I would like to find more of those.<br />
~And who in the world could that little girl be? hmmmm . . . . . ( I inserted copies of some family photo's just to give her reference)<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
(Again I ask,who is that girl?! . . . ) On the right I made a pocket from a vintage dinner napkin.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

Well, there are 2 more blasts from my past : ) I hope you enjoyed.<br />
I am still soaking in my Summer. How about you? Though the nites are getting quite chilly! the daytime temps are still flip-flops and Tshirt weather! : ) And that brings me joy.<br />
Loving hugs to you,<br />

Hi friends!<br />
I'm hoping your Summer (or Winter ; ) season is going well?!<br />
I have been keeping busy with family; and that, for me, is the best kind of busy! I am going to start creating a project soon I hope - - But my heart is still reluctant - as my mojo's been on an extended vacation (sigh : / ) So, once again I am bringng a treasure from the past and sharing it with you today : )<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh1l0I1dSAdlD9WV3mYcSxC0GcnmvzIxOAzn4xh1JqEL0A4Ax3u6V5eowl2Y1J71VwJSjcouWUNlGz9shrZ9sXnJjKOKfG-o67_arf_tDygWi6nQ_JO-gI4GqtHPjQ_d04a1ibNLwahYw/s1600/IMGP0080.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="456" data-original-width="388" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh1l0I1dSAdlD9WV3mYcSxC0GcnmvzIxOAzn4xh1JqEL0A4Ax3u6V5eowl2Y1J71VwJSjcouWUNlGz9shrZ9sXnJjKOKfG-o67_arf_tDygWi6nQ_JO-gI4GqtHPjQ_d04a1ibNLwahYw/s640/IMGP0080.JPG" width="544" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
I shared this story a few years ago~<br />
I was at my sisters house and we were trying to mend something - but she had no sewing basket or even the basics for hand stitching! So I got it into mind to create a little needle book & basic sewing kit for her, using this favorite pic of our grandmother.<br />
It started out rather simple, but grandma's photo inspired me to embellish it rather 'fancy-like' ! And I gifted Mariann with this.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh0hAuxBc8vNamdo6W5fFwUMQptXWDaOL9UIdfTVwRtSPp9gsFtGMzOxS1U7_7rPyl41CaxrfJ7o8TlyH9CvAWP8pAfWo9H3L4l7M7KbpyED643-4QpJaZ1mVE8PKIXPkrlENpMVjG2aw/s1600/IMGP0079.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="379" data-original-width="604" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh0hAuxBc8vNamdo6W5fFwUMQptXWDaOL9UIdfTVwRtSPp9gsFtGMzOxS1U7_7rPyl41CaxrfJ7o8TlyH9CvAWP8pAfWo9H3L4l7M7KbpyED643-4QpJaZ1mVE8PKIXPkrlENpMVjG2aw/s640/IMGP0079.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
The outer layer is white burlap; the inner layer is muslin. I used a vintage brown handkerchief to create 'pockets' for some essentials - and I stitched a piece of wide (cream colored) bias tape across it horizontally, to create some slots for scissors & etc. I enclosed all the necessities for a basic repair : )<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
The front cover is a combination of Maja Designs papers (love love love . . .) <a href="http://majadesign.nu/products/vintage-summer-basics/">http://majadesign.nu/products/vintage-summer-basics/</a> Some machine stitching and pearl-like beads, silver micro-beads, seam binding ribbon, die cut flourishes, bits of glitter and laces. Whew!<br />
The little metal 'envelope' embellishment was a Hobby Lobby find : ) The key is chipboard.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjVsGEGVCLODJmz6dqEA6PBKY2xRQRo9I8UCGma42dF9mFr4Rmi0SINwwF0bF8yV6Z8sRTSHr2w1cN_-OLot1WkKhkLg8O2zVXVhTg7cClnNhyA77Dqzx-ggFLonOBlpsjRQ5YJJSoJxg/s1600/IMGP0083.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="365" data-original-width="375" height="619" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjVsGEGVCLODJmz6dqEA6PBKY2xRQRo9I8UCGma42dF9mFr4Rmi0SINwwF0bF8yV6Z8sRTSHr2w1cN_-OLot1WkKhkLg8O2zVXVhTg7cClnNhyA77Dqzx-ggFLonOBlpsjRQ5YJJSoJxg/s640/IMGP0083.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
So there she is, grandma at about 15 years old~ (circa 1925)<br />
And Mariann now has a sewing kit - should the need arise!! : )<br />
<br />
Wishing you a blessed day today and a wonderful week-end to come <3<br />
Loving hugs,<br />

Hi friends~ How is your Summer going? I'm so thankful you stopped by today! I appreciate you peeking in. I am finding myself busy and not all-to-very-creative I'm afraid~ So rather than leave things go, I'm posting an Observations Journal I made in the summer of 2014. Hope that's ok!?<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I was noticing some burlap posts elsewhere, and it reminded me of this mini I made. I usually give away as gifts most of the things I make, but this one is a treasure to me : ) and I've kept it for myself to enjoy~</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEivN-Nttthbvk9BqH_24TZ3xFKPZRE3iXMMRlMSVS1gU91FCO6X5puTbAdUWLWnEPGuYFEo6WIiT_SmLOokVtQ_qVcT0OBxuiX3TRV3mEIUyOLO1-Q3XLqLc-m3_1fLXT6hT8rJUf8YBw/s1600/112_1248.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="437" data-original-width="414" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEivN-Nttthbvk9BqH_24TZ3xFKPZRE3iXMMRlMSVS1gU91FCO6X5puTbAdUWLWnEPGuYFEo6WIiT_SmLOokVtQ_qVcT0OBxuiX3TRV3mEIUyOLO1-Q3XLqLc-m3_1fLXT6hT8rJUf8YBw/s640/112_1248.JPG" width="606" /></a></div>
Created with a burlap base, this little (aprox 6"X4") field journal contains lots of organic/textural elements; including mulberry paper, velum, seam binding, older papers from Graphic 45, some metal and lace - - I guess a bit of everything! Here are several pics below:<br />

Hello friends! Did you enjoy your week-end? I had some great quality time with grandkids and my daughter too~ <br />
Quick post - another rather grungy card with a vintage family photo, once again featuring my mother-in-law. I believe she is about 5 years old in these photo's.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg6o01x0LYkJpwrdyoSykZaN3FTo3Ggs4X4hA2xY2mTY-NMAZN440a7PRaH0zj387ZoWM6iY7Q82o3p6tTRM9nXRZ50bdp1OmWli8jSf8919NfvlI7RIMgcFK5Tz5l1bdS44cBn-L8rkA/s1600/IMG_2552+%25282%2529.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1200" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg6o01x0LYkJpwrdyoSykZaN3FTo3Ggs4X4hA2xY2mTY-NMAZN440a7PRaH0zj387ZoWM6iY7Q82o3p6tTRM9nXRZ50bdp1OmWli8jSf8919NfvlI7RIMgcFK5Tz5l1bdS44cBn-L8rkA/s640/IMG_2552+%25282%2529.JPG" width="480" /></a></div>
I've always wanted to use these 2 photo's : ) In the first one she is kind of hiding in the shadows of the front door - and then she "steps on out!" into the sunlight, and the camera's view~<br />
This card was very different, even for me I think.<br />
I used some pressed flowers from several years ago. My husband made me a flower press and he even grew the little Jump-up flowers you see here. <br />

There's a titch of cotton lace, MS wild flower punch on the bottom, and some bits of my usual embellishments~ I snuck in a piece of that washi I've lately come to love, but I now think it was a bit out of place here. What do you think? I'm a dare devil ; ) LOL!<br />
Thank you so so much for taking time to peek in and see my card!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
I appreciate each one who stops to look. You mean the world to me~<br />
Hope your week ahead is filled with beauty~<br />
Hugs, Karen<br />

Hi Friends in blog world! We are having a sunny day today, and I am so happy! We hit a patch of very cold rainy weather - and I'm so eager for Summer~ Perhaps she is here <3<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I'm sharing another birthday card, highlighting a photo of my (late) mother-in-law; when she was about 2~ </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

These post pics were taken during our few weeks of cloudy weather- so the lighting is terrible!<br />
The base is white cardstock; stamped. Then a (generous! ; ) layer of cheesecloth.<br />
I used My Minds Eye papers and washi tape <a href="https://www.scrapbook.com/store/mme-ghf111.html?w=Gingham">https://www.scrapbook.com/store/mme-ghf111.html?w=Gingham </a><br />
for the layers. I wish you could see the tape better -<br />
Well wait, you can! Let me take a pic and add it here*<br />
<br />

Hi friends~<br />
Your visit is Very Much Appreciated!! <br />
I hope all is well for you? Are your days warming? (or is it snowing yet! : ) [Our friends in Australia are heading into their Autumn and Winter seasons.] We are warm and a bit rainy in Montana; but I love to look out my apartment window and see the lush green grass! (rather than mountains of snow : )<br />
I have just a few cards & whatnot to share with you today.<br />
<br />
A birthday card for one of my dear sisters-in-law. I made a copy of a vintage photo. This is her (& my late husbands) Poppy - [top left.]<br />
Simple, quick and easy card using some My Minds Eye papers; layered and edges inked. The 'paper-clip' looking cut out is from an old die. I stamped the tag with a fun sentiment and bike. Twine for good measure! : )<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjb-WUXeTTDId_RxvM95nI0vwMPRhnpXfqSVGT5lgGo5P3pModAtGWYC-Qba1n3WsiImh5b0WNTgsAl7hFsSa0Srgqz0taXnJMyWCWfDnUB0TW6Q2jew8YK4_TUfkrI_madyXyfuEtLDw/s1600/IMG_2302.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1200" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjb-WUXeTTDId_RxvM95nI0vwMPRhnpXfqSVGT5lgGo5P3pModAtGWYC-Qba1n3WsiImh5b0WNTgsAl7hFsSa0Srgqz0taXnJMyWCWfDnUB0TW6Q2jew8YK4_TUfkrI_madyXyfuEtLDw/s640/IMG_2302.JPG" width="480" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
This is quite the vintage shot, isn't it : )</div>
Look at that poor skinny boy next to Poppy! He should share that candy bar!<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjABV32xV6E_k9G1UkWhip1LRh9Hf5FRYvbsd5Rv9ReThtnDhYfRJJAvMCFyoNbw6kvbMknyac6WPN938CdPH5YEZH0w2mcsWMpswrUkUD3xm_5W9aZDjrgDe1PJgS16VPKPBiaUPZn_A/s1600/IMG_2302.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"></a><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

Next is a small tag I made from a piece of recycled Prima packaging~<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjbBp8sDqgeyYOFNNKEDAezIeh_J8hc4thdwJil7j-KAAjV8OIHiwPSgvduXFLjjcsGjEJ1DG6RRT2q51x73JNfuVGy1QnMzW5wip8VXSytrm7dmOzbnvTMxk44oNG0b0KkW1SAKJRMEw/s1600/IMG_2522.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1200" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjbBp8sDqgeyYOFNNKEDAezIeh_J8hc4thdwJil7j-KAAjV8OIHiwPSgvduXFLjjcsGjEJ1DG6RRT2q51x73JNfuVGy1QnMzW5wip8VXSytrm7dmOzbnvTMxk44oNG0b0KkW1SAKJRMEw/s640/IMG_2522.JPG" width="480" /></a></div>
When I fell in love with scrapbooking/card making it was both vintage And shabby-chic that made my heart race!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi7v0ylkPob56v90Gx4DnWLBKhxeGFeOE9rxh8t7NWu6dQBcLdHDPocl59hir3jY_xqpEJFTf23VM3pEFXU7UCZznMjLbw9tDgJIKsNwrl-6GwbovYlPudFS3WkizOeAqb3Uz-CCle1RA/s1600/IMG_2523.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1200" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi7v0ylkPob56v90Gx4DnWLBKhxeGFeOE9rxh8t7NWu6dQBcLdHDPocl59hir3jY_xqpEJFTf23VM3pEFXU7UCZznMjLbw9tDgJIKsNwrl-6GwbovYlPudFS3WkizOeAqb3Uz-CCle1RA/s400/IMG_2523.JPG" width="300" /></a></div>
A little 'ticket' under the bow. A small piece of Kaisercraft brand 'sewing' paper.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjYHTkFg_DxdoY5t29vFcUJqfOQMFNpCxSk2OwECjtK4FM9wiF4fasbOILC2By8fd6SLcTaG2l1djkYgvtnsIORJPD_jvQqkIpyJfbaQOuuSzWAD7qUv85QbA9vLjmhFdW5VfllwbOhHQ/s1600/IMG_2524.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1200" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjYHTkFg_DxdoY5t29vFcUJqfOQMFNpCxSk2OwECjtK4FM9wiF4fasbOILC2By8fd6SLcTaG2l1djkYgvtnsIORJPD_jvQqkIpyJfbaQOuuSzWAD7qUv85QbA9vLjmhFdW5VfllwbOhHQ/s400/IMG_2524.JPG" width="300" /></a></div>
The stitching was already on the tag (I think some resin pieces came on this?)<br />
I 'fussy-cut' some small flower clusters from pattered paper and loosely attached.<br />
<br />
The last one is a simple 'envelope-style' card made quickly! I needed a Thank You for two special friends~<br />

This (env. style) idea was shared a few years ago on a blog (no longer active) - I really liked the look!<br />

The warmer weather has brought on baseball and soccer; and so I've been busy enjoying my grandkids games. <br />
Wishing you a blessed week-end~<br />

Hi friends! I'm still here : ) and have had a bit of time and a little creativity~ Hope you are well? Are you heading into a busy Summer season? We had a few very warm days - but (sigh) still in the midst of 'rainy-cool' weather. Perhps this coming weekend we will warm. That's OK; Summer is bound to be late some years : ) she can get lost along the way - Montana is so far . . .<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
Here's a large tag (from > <a href="https://g45papers.com/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=1897&search=tag">Graphic 45</a> ) <br />
I used some vintage book paper (Lesson Hour with the Little Ones . .)<br />
I've also used papers and washi tapes from the My Minds Eye paper collection called "Gingham Farm." > <a href="https://www.scrapbook.com/store/mme-ghf111.html?gclid=CjwKCAjw_YPnBRBREiwAIP6TJ2ezz8BuwFPjpe7XE08fLmLTTkngTxhyyXB3msW3kuVl69Wd5xPtxxoCYNwQAvD_BwE">Scrapbook.com </a><br />
I added some seam binding in black and gold; and a chipboard hinge from Dusty Attic.<br />
<a href="https://www.dustyattic.com.au/products.php?product=Hinges">https://www.dustyattic.com.au/products.php?product=Hinges</a><br />
I covered the hinge with white paint, clear crackle medium, distress ink; and some micro-beads~<br />

I always seem to go a bit crazy with those teeny beads! You should see my desk . . .(they roll all over the pace! : )<br />

Sorry about the shadowy post pic's : / There just hasn't been much outdoor light during these cloudy days ( to take good photo's with my phone.)<br />
<br />
I think I must say goodbye for now. I hope you have a blessed week ahead!! I have one or two small things to share when I can get back~ I'm glad to have been at my craft desk and actually create! LOL ; )<br />
Loving hugs to you'<br />

(& thinking Neutrals)<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on">
Hello to my dear friends in Blogland! Yes, I'm still around ; ) and am able to visit around about once a week~ I am seeing beautiful work! and always lots of inspiration. May is now here and with it - - -well, c h i l l y weather!<br />
: ) It has warmed up here in Montana' USA and I'm thankful. But it is still very chilly and even below freezing for some of our overnight forecasts~ Lots of green though! so I am very pleased <3<br />
Come the first part of every month I start thinking "Neutrals," in anticipation of Wen's Simply Neutrals Tuesday blog parties! And although she is taking a well deserved break from that for the time being - my heart just naturally goes there : )<br />
Can you handle yet another 'blast from the past' from my archives!?!? I hope so!<br />
I am truly working on a few things I hope to post soon - but for now let me share this small journal cover from a while ago~<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi-cnHZZRBqFzSAZjGe0MKy-NoML2WeEb4KpY4N4yTD96sc2jhXagbWiWadcImivOQSJzuanyH3cvFUijgVxKbeByD7K7DR9t8-PV48jJoaXwqvopJ_-G38g1bQgrMku7nFYAmvQ-jT_Q/s1600/IMGP0220.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="817" data-original-width="650" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi-cnHZZRBqFzSAZjGe0MKy-NoML2WeEb4KpY4N4yTD96sc2jhXagbWiWadcImivOQSJzuanyH3cvFUijgVxKbeByD7K7DR9t8-PV48jJoaXwqvopJ_-G38g1bQgrMku7nFYAmvQ-jT_Q/s640/IMGP0220.JPG" width="508" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
Pressed board covered with a vintage hankie; on the left is a strip of muslin, pleated & stitched.<br />
Then from the bottom to the top I layered a gazillion things! including laces, vintage buttons, corrugated board, white burlap, fussy-cut flowers (for a sort of 'arbor' effect) and some white felt die-cut hearts <a href="https://www.sizzix.com/656335/sizzix-bigz-die-hearts-primitive">sizzix-bigz-die-hearts-primitive</a>- topped with a piece of wedding lace~<br />
(I believe I've used that heart die far more than any other die I own.)<br />
I know, I know, I shared this not too long ago at one of the Simply Neutrals Party's : / but I beg your forgiveness! while I wait patiently for new creativity~<br />
Hugs to you all! I hope to visit you very soon.<br />
Weekends seem to be my best time to 'get out there' and do some blog visiting <3<br />
And so I wish you a wonderful weekend ahead! and many blessings too.<br />
Loving hugs,<br />

Hi friends and welcome!!!<br />
Are things warming up your way? (Unless you are near my Australian friends who are starting their Autumn? season soon I believe.)<br />
We are having the 'A typical' Spring rain weather here in MT. And still very chilly at night!<br />
I'm glad for the rain though - it will make a beautiful difference in the landscape~ <br />
<br />
I'm just taking a minute to share a card I made many moons ago : )<br />
<img border="0" height="600" itemprop="image" src="https://www.scrapbook.com/gallery/cache/66/666597/100_072323_0.jpg" style="border: 0px;" width="532" /><br />
I used some older 'My Minds Eye' papers, (from their "Lost & Found" collection.) and they are still in my 'favorites' pile today; though not much is available anymore.<br />
I have always tried to make my flowers by hand - and use the project papers to coordinate.<br />
These colors work so well together, don't you think? : ) <br />
The bit of sheet music is vintage. My father gave me a box full! It's fun to insert it here & there.<br />
The large and the small button are from 'Grandma's jar'. I think the background striped paper may be Graphic 45 Studios from the "School Days" collection.<br />
Lots of texture and pattern going on! And thank you Mr. T. Holtz for the great distress inks! I believe I used 'Vintage Photo' on the edges of the flowers. <a href="https://timholtz.com/prod_cat/distress-inks/">https://timholtz.com/prod_cat/distress-inks/</a><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
And speaking about vintage sheet music! here are a couple photo's of my dad (just for grins) still playing music at 85.<br />
Through his life he has played 7 different instruments; and very well at that. His piano playing was professional level for many years - and as a child I remember he would put us to sleep at night with the classics; my favorite being Bach! : )<br />

Hello friends!<br />
Just stopping in to share an older card (I made for my brother several years ago) and to say Hi! I am still here and have been looking around blogland when I can : ) I hope to stop in and leave some comments soon~<br />
I would like you to meet my great-great grandfather, Antoine.<br />
He moved his family from France to Quebec, Canada, but I'm not sure of the date yet.. He had a son named Fredrick (my great grandfather) and Fredrick had a son named Renee - (my mothers father, and of course) my grandfather. My grandfather Renee (whom my grandmother called "Rey") was raised in Canada but moved to the (US) Detroit, Michigan area as a man. He met and married Juliette (also French) and my mother Emilie was one of their 9 children! She grew up in a French speaking home, but being in Detroit, all the children learned English (in school) and sadly, the language was lost.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhyf0jVa4nKjKNtcFyBEVluwdPBLnOkgEGHxL-Mk5QOZSOIyXlH9iP4_VN1B4xm1l6fW8DoY-25oxUMXttGO0Uc397PejfstjmoAoLrYai_ohU2Tq-IGf-OZbV7mAoq0AY0e0rImfR13w/s1600/IMGP0010.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="772" data-original-width="600" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhyf0jVa4nKjKNtcFyBEVluwdPBLnOkgEGHxL-Mk5QOZSOIyXlH9iP4_VN1B4xm1l6fW8DoY-25oxUMXttGO0Uc397PejfstjmoAoLrYai_ohU2Tq-IGf-OZbV7mAoq0AY0e0rImfR13w/s640/IMGP0010.JPG" width="496" /></a></div>
The clever idea of using the vintage ruler as a display came from my very creative and innovative friend; Connie Mercer, at: <a href="https://www.craftygoodies.com/">https://www.craftygoodies.com/</a><br />
I used lots of corrugated cardboard and 'kraft' brown papers.<br />
I cut (a copy of) the photo out with a "tag die" <a href="https://www.scrapbook.com/store/bo-12839175.html?w=Tag+die+bo+bunny">https://www.scrapbook.com/store/bo-12839175.html?w=Tag+die+bo+bunny</a><br />
The 'stars' (and i think the 'pocket watch') are Tim Holtz dies <a href="https://www.scrapbook.com/store/sz-658771.html">https://www.scrapbook.com/store/sz-658771.html </a><br />
and I believe I used his Distress ink (vintage photo) on many of the edges.<br />
There's a bit of sewing machine stitching, raffia and fibers.<br />

Here is papa Renee, grandma Juliette and their 9 children! I made this card for my mom a while back. There is some family history "printed' over the photo. My mama, Emilie Juliette, is in braids; front/left. (Her dress looks as if it's 'glowing' : ) as she now is; in Heaven~<br />

Hello to all who've stopped by today!<br />
I am hoping Spring is in the air for you? We are warming to the low 50's (deg f) during the day here in the N/W area of the USA; I'm happy to report! : )<br />
True, we may have another few bouts with snow, but you can bet we are looking forward to longer days, warmer weather, flowers! and that - - smell of Spring!<br />
I was telling someone not too long ago about my early childhood in Michigan. When Easter and Springtime were near. As the sun warmed the ground and melted all that winter snow, there was the smell of wet earth that permeated the yards. You could smell it as soon as you walked out the door~<br />
The first signs of Spring for me!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEimMv8eJcRJSbgnDYATR9SMqTOZZquUhXqL6I5cWy5TmOYiJtLsNUXILxDlYQ7dCeJhRoo1cMQReJhTLHP9_5602QC-6hxhPPoD5DRIIzOuC36hfidgwgm0be0nsJdcHyUNnqZB3Dzfhg/s1600/IMGP0203.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1242" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEimMv8eJcRJSbgnDYATR9SMqTOZZquUhXqL6I5cWy5TmOYiJtLsNUXILxDlYQ7dCeJhRoo1cMQReJhTLHP9_5602QC-6hxhPPoD5DRIIzOuC36hfidgwgm0be0nsJdcHyUNnqZB3Dzfhg/s640/IMGP0203.JPG" width="496" /></a></div>
FRENCH VINTAGE STYLE JOURNAL created Feb 2014<br />
<br />
Well, I must confess I was hoping Spring would bring with it a renewed creativity and energy~<br />
I've been longing for that 'creative eye' - rummaging thru my lace and fabrics, papers and trinkets- searching for the perfect compliments for my latest creation~<br />
But it seems I just haven't 'got it goin' right now : / and I've had to make some decisions- to keep myself from sitting at the scrap table every night; just staring at my stuff! Facing the fact that it's just not happening right now is my first step; and believe me I've been giving it a real effort~<br />
<img border="0" height="287" itemprop="image" src="https://www.scrapbook.com/gallery/cache/66/666597/IMGP0210_0.jpg" style="border: 0px none;" width="400" /><br />
Yes I have created a few things over the last several months, but the love and drive, joy and passion for it seems to have evaporated right now; if I can be honest with you friends~ Yes, it breaks my heart a little. OK, a lot.<br />
But my attitude is key in times like these. There may be many reasons why my creativity can "ebb and flow" as it does. <br />
<br />
Sooo, I am not going to sit here every evening waiting for my date to Not show! ; ) LOL<br />
I'm going to take a break from the table. Get some walking in, more time with family, and start spending more time out-and-about; at least for awhile~ But my heart just isn't ready to say GoodBye to Blogland all together.<br />
I love you all so much! and want to continue visiting when I can.<br />
You are an inspiration to me! even though my 'mojo' tank is on "E" <3<br />
<br />
I would also like to keep posting for a while, so I am bringing out some things I created many years ago~ I hope no one minds. I still want to - share~<br />
I created this journal in 2014. (before most of my grief had begun- long story)<br />
<br />
<a href="https://www.scrapbook.com/gallery/cache/66/666597/IMGP0204_0.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" itemprop="image" src="https://www.scrapbook.com/gallery/cache/66/666597/IMGP0204_0.jpg" style="border: 0px none;" width="400" /></a><img border="0" height="400" itemprop="image" src="https://www.scrapbook.com/gallery/cache/66/666597/IMGP02070_0.jpg" style="border: 0px none;" width="359" /><br />
On the cover, I used mostly scraps of papers, (some from Maja Designs <a href="http://majadesign.nu/products/">http://majadesign.nu/products/</a> including the image.) I stenciled a canvas heart, there's twine, and a few bits of metal. My flowers hand-made. There's also several strips of washi tape and bits of corrugated board.<br />
The base front and back cover were from 7 Gypsies. <a href="https://shop.canvascorpbrands.com/products/book-cover-roma-large">https://shop.canvascorpbrands.com/products/book-cover-roma-large </a><br />
I hope you enjoy it <3<br />

Hi to all! How has your week been going? Have you had creative time? My visits out to blogland indicate that some of you have indeed been busy creating beauty and inspiration : )<br />
I unfortunately have been busy taking care of other things and have not been at my craft table : /<br />
<br />
It is (once again) time for Wen's monthly SIMPLY NEUTRALS TUESDAY Link party!<br />
And (once again) I do not have anything new in neutral colors to contribute : / so I have (once again) dug into my past posts! (yay sometimes for 'past posts' : ) and am sharing some pics of a canvas bag I created several years ago.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh7YyCqYMvAHsN5ec-C5ytXZxVlMhEaAwYvuEVYcRCVN-2yo3nxLFCsKOo80gAlbC1gfSNASjp1SVCradHXx3a5nkf-dfaWNdsDRXncKqvD-s5VJNKQLIP0tSZdWC3xG66FMC0B8QF2FA/s1600/IMGP0099.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="486" data-original-width="357" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh7YyCqYMvAHsN5ec-C5ytXZxVlMhEaAwYvuEVYcRCVN-2yo3nxLFCsKOo80gAlbC1gfSNASjp1SVCradHXx3a5nkf-dfaWNdsDRXncKqvD-s5VJNKQLIP0tSZdWC3xG66FMC0B8QF2FA/s640/IMGP0099.JPG" width="470" /></a></div>
I believe this is the first one I ever made. It is a smaller size; will hold a few medium-sized books.<br />
It's a canvas base, with a corner (bottom-right) covered in a vintage hankie piece. The body is covered with a wide band of pretty (not vintage) lace., and a width of cotton lace too. I've collected some laces, hankies, and such from estate sales over the years, and was also gifted some beautiful pieces from my late-husbands mother and grandmother. The pretty corner hankie piece is from Grandma~ <br />
The handle for this bag was made from 'ripped' strips of canvas; to
which I added a strip of cotton lace to the center (lengthwise) and I
re-enforced the ripped edges with zig-zag machine stitching along the
sides. <br />

Here's a peek at the inside. Made with a simple pocket for separation. <br />
The rosette is a 'twisted & rolled up' hankie that had a bit of damage - so, a perfect use for it here!<br />
I added a loose faux pearl to the center.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

Hello friends! I hope you are doing well?<br />
There IS a small art project below- but I did want to share so pics of my surroundings : )<br />
We in the north-west corner of Montana are covered in a thick blanket of snow~<br />
The rural area's near my home city of Kalispell are piled high with this cold white stuff! <br />

I am acclimatizing (did I say that right?) slowly; and learning to love the beauty of living in Montana~ My family won't believe I said that! But what truly makes living here extra special is being so close to my daughter and all the grandkids : ) <3 I am blessed.<br />
<br />
My mojo/creativity is still not happy with me. As if I'm trying to wake it out of hibernation! "Nooo, it's only February, let me sleep . . ." Alas, I get some bits and pieces : ) and am just going with the flow right now.<br />
Here's a little hanging tag I made; just trying to keep busy at the craft table. A bit rustic and grungy; not too bad. *smile*<br />

The branch above her head was cut with a Memory Box die <a href="http://www.memoryboxco.com/98187-Woodland-Branch-craft-dies_p_91.html">http://www.memoryboxco.com/98187-Woodland-Branch-craft-dies_p_91.html</a> and painted with a few layers of Tattered Angels <a href="http://www.mytatteredangels.com/paint/starter-kits/">http://www.mytatteredangels.com/paint/starter-kits/</a> "Weathered Wood" sprays. I added some Prills [search Amazon] for dirt around the grass; mixing in some glitter too. <br />

It will be my dad's 85th birthday next month; but it will be the first one without my mom by his side in almost 72 years..<br />
They met at about the age of 12, in 6th grade! and fell in love~ They have been devoted to each other all these years.<br />
Since my mom went to Heaven in July, we have all felt the loss deeply - and of course, dad has felt it most acutely. Married 65 years! That really is a lifetime, isn't it?<br />
We are very proud of him and how he is carrying on with his music and doing his best to keep busy and productive; with a very broken heart~<br />
This photo was taken when they were working in an office together for a while. I believe it was before they were actually married.<br />
I created this on a small paper bag, and it will be filled with his favorite candy! (Tootsie Rolls : )<br />
and perhaps a gift card to a favorite restaurant or something~<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
It's a real 'eclectic' mix of papers and such, but I've incorporated things that have meaning to me as well.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
There is stitching, thread, and a few 'button' cards (the yellowish 25c card & the pale green one) remembering all the sewing my mother did~ When we were growing up she made almost all of our clothes. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi6CPcJyxA4gL4Q7x7EWOmevBCZUCBou-cFw2Syv5988XkaVWrH9sFGC3JAQXwfYZCYTeDqVsgKLb4kM0n4P0PW-PSjhrhqWCe1WfyfKPc0cOwkiwfMSR8gcG0qpNOSnl0kOU5wy9bXIA/s1600/IMG_1897.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1279" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi6CPcJyxA4gL4Q7x7EWOmevBCZUCBou-cFw2Syv5988XkaVWrH9sFGC3JAQXwfYZCYTeDqVsgKLb4kM0n4P0PW-PSjhrhqWCe1WfyfKPc0cOwkiwfMSR8gcG0qpNOSnl0kOU5wy9bXIA/s640/IMG_1897.JPG" width="510" /></a></div>
<br />
There's a bit of sheet music paper just above the 'Happy Birthday' that hints of dads musical ability~<br />
He played 7 different instruments in his lifetime, and is still playing the piano and clarinet.<br />
I used bits of ticket stub and filmstrip, reminding me of all the symphony's and musicals they took us too! For years they would buy 3 season tickets, and each of us 6 kids would get one turn to go out for a special night with mom & dad! <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

Hi friends~ I hope all is well for you? I'm doing pretty well, despite the 'deep-freeze' that has settled down upon us here in north-west Montana, USA. Near freezing and below for several days/nights.<br />
Even next week we will have <minus> over-night temperatures! Brrrrrr!<br />
<br />
Please know that Google+ will be gone soon!! and so I've added a button:<br />
"Follow me with Bloglovin"<br />
near the top right on my blog - if you would care to follow that way <3<br />
I am pretty I.T. illiterate! and don't understand what exactly will happen in April; but I hope to get better informed - so I don't loose my following at your place! I enjoy Every blog I follow, and don't want to miss anything because I can't find you!~<br />
<br />
I wanted to tell you, I have grown to love <img alt="Our monthly link up party" height="293" id="Image1_img" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhiBWuwCBY5pyamCaw6i2gAgng5jb8hrcVDHOLR7bsYWBZMCub1HNHlrmjKM_qiqo64e8FQFSjQa-fi1jIQiyZ6MLtGHL2J48ytI3Y1e3Dq9MLoNL-_0CpVPJoLj1H_RafuwC315Yl4Fg/s1600/Simply+Neutrals+Tuesday+at+AppleApricot+-+blog+button.jpg" width="220" /> <a href="http://appleapricot.blogspot.com/">Simply Neutrals Tuesday at Wens' blog every month,</a><br />

And so - - I had to reach back into my past and find a "neutral" to enter! <br />
My creating has been so - - limited lately, and I did not have the time or mojo to get something new ready for today~ : /<br />

<a href="http://appleapricot.blogspot.com/"> </a>This is one of the . . .grungiest! cards I've ever made, and it happens to be one of my very favorites as well~ A birthday card for my nephew.<br />
I know Wendy is flexible about adding bits of color, so I'm hoping she will accept this for submission : )<br />
I used: Lots of layers of kraft cardstock, Kraft patterned paper, Burlap, twine, stamping words and postage, metal 'screw' brads - and the colorful bird w/music is actually from some (Prima?) packaging~ <br />
There's lots of washi tape too, and if you can see him, the little bird resting on the "fun day" sign? he was die cut from some paper that was covered in pieces of washi.<br />
<br />

Greetings friends in Blogland! I was able to finish my business in CO earlier than planned <3 Whew~ and I've been home in MT now for a week; barely! : ) It was a good (and adventurous) trip - perhaps I'll share some of that one day ; ), but for now I want to share the little bit of inspiration I have found at my craft table, since being home. (Mind you, the weather is Dreary! so lighting is bad)<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgises5CfIg0MG6Duz1eg8HYxprYk_WT4feG5zu0hZGsrsEsXE1DWrC2IDKepRG4QoCxBwv4tjAMwuiHfYN3svCgZjIthgYsF8Nx2Yfn6IsrFaWLmycOk7LWhBVc4xswj6QpCrqr28T8A/s1600/IMG_1801.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1200" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgises5CfIg0MG6Duz1eg8HYxprYk_WT4feG5zu0hZGsrsEsXE1DWrC2IDKepRG4QoCxBwv4tjAMwuiHfYN3svCgZjIthgYsF8Nx2Yfn6IsrFaWLmycOk7LWhBVc4xswj6QpCrqr28T8A/s640/IMG_1801.JPG" width="480" /></a></div>
A little tag I put together with some things on hand. About 5"X3" (12.7X7.62cm)<br />
The base paper (roses) is from an older collection by Mr. T. Holtz,~ I punched the black strip, added T. Holtz tissue paper (nest) with some Modge Podge, and the 'bird and words' are paper by Jenni Bowlin.<br />
I framed the edges (of the bird & words) with some tiny snippets of cotton lace that I recently received from my friend Jesse @ <a href="http://lace-age-girl.blogspot.com/">Lace Age Girl</a> blog- Thank you dear Jesse!! She blessed me with some belated Christmas cheer : )<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

I think it added just the right touch to my simple start of new year creating.<br />

I must admit, the first card I created when I sat down to 'craft' (after being gone for weeks) I really don't want to show you! (yikes) Does that never happen to you? It happens w/me more than I care to tell : / I start out with some (great wonderful fantastic) ideas; and then it's all Downhill from there!! Oh well, I'm learning as I go~ I keep trying! And feeling free to have fun AND make some mistakes along the way. How 'bout you? <br />
Wishing you all a creative week ahead and lots of blessings too~<br />

Hello my friends in Blogland : ) And I noticed little 'ol me has a few new followers here @ Roosterhead Designs; and I want to sincerely Thank You!! for including me in your Reading List!<br />
I am not sure how to find your blog? to properly pay a visit : ) But thank you all the same~<br />
<br />
I'm still away from my crafting for a few more weeks, but I just wanted to say hi to all and wish you a blessed week-end ahead <3<br />
I am including 2 (7") paper bag cards I made from Maja Design papers. This was Many Moons Ago!<br />
The tag is for writing out your sentiment and then it slides into the bag, along with a gift or little treat. I layered several papers from the "Vintage Autumn Basics" line, and did some machine stitching too. There's a bit of white corrugated board and twine and seam binding bow; {per usual : }<br />
I've also added a few buttons from Gramma's jar.<br />

<br />
Here below is one with a sewing theme! Love the teeny wood spool accent and the 'scissors' washi tape~ There is a band of lace under the pale blue horizontal bow. Some paper punching and postal stamping too~<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

I don't know that I ever had some much fun with any one paper company than I have with Maja design papers. Although they come from Sweden (so shipping is $$,) they are of the utmost quality; thick and lovely! The colors and themes are rich & beautiful. OK, that's my free commercial for Maja.<br />
<br />
I am enjoying the little time I do have (while on work assignment) to visit around blogs and see what winter and pre-spring ideas are popping up! I think momentum is building : ) LOL<br />
Again, have a blessed week-end, which I hope includes a bit of outdoors and creativity too.<br />

Hello to you and a great big Thanks! for looking in~<br />
I want to let you know I may not be posting anything for a while; well, possibly till February~<br />
I am a full-time bookkeeper and do lots of accounting and some work related travel at the years end. This is a busy time any way, with Christmas and New Years just a few weeks away!<br />
Perhaps I'm jumping the gun a bit - - but just in case I don't make it back for a while, I wanted you to know why~ I certainly hope to do some blog visiting though; So I'll see you at your place! :)<br />
<br />
Well today I am posting a card I made a looong time ago! - but is a favorite for me.<br />
Old world Santa and burlap<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgz0hHK7VPiGc_IpvOLNvwfBtScL15rOraORWo_kuwthMCrpY6NQyvLOch4IUxqsS2-qUWpG1eevZh1IF2S1CFwhxYI1dezB7AV5nM9ciKeRbl5xt98JddWnRhi4lcn_QvBpVmvcrY2lw/s1600/112_1598.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="425" data-original-width="323" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgz0hHK7VPiGc_IpvOLNvwfBtScL15rOraORWo_kuwthMCrpY6NQyvLOch4IUxqsS2-qUWpG1eevZh1IF2S1CFwhxYI1dezB7AV5nM9ciKeRbl5xt98JddWnRhi4lcn_QvBpVmvcrY2lw/s640/112_1598.JPG" width="486" /></a></div>
I used a distressed card base, a layer of red burlap, then white burlap, a piece of corrugated board with some Gesso 'snow', the image from a friend, and a few berries & such, & a whisp of raffia. The white button is from Grama's jar. There is a generous amount of white glitter too~<br />
<br />
How are your holiday preparations going? From what I see in my 'Readers List' there is much Creativity going on!! Hard to believe Christmas Eve is just 2 weeks from today. In my family we love the festivities of this celebration of Jesus' birth - along with reaching out to others with gifts of love, good will, and best wishes!<br />
I Thank each one of you for your loving support and dear friendship~ My life has seen it's share of difficulties these last few years and I truly and sincerely appreciate your love and encouragement!<br />
<br />
Wishing for you a very blessed Christmas and very Happy New Year!<br />
Love and hugs,<br />

Thanks to all who stop in! I sure appreciate you taking time to look~<br />
Hopefully : ) just a quick post for me to share a card I created last week.<br />

I couldn't seem to get a good clear shot of this one. The sky has been quite dark and grey for days and so with just the artificial light - I get the shadows . . .<br />
<br />
There is a bottom layer of pale pink cardstock, then black cardstock, cheesecloth, a pale greenish-blue that you can hardly see 'peeking thru'; and then the image. (From ShabbyArtsBoutique blog - KerryAnne is so kind.)<br />
I tucked in some white Prills beads, glitter and sequins. Added bits of texture paste and paint, not too much, just here & there along the top & bottom sides.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
